At Clare, you have an opportunity to visit one of the fine boutique wineries in this region. The legendary lilac haze of the Flinders Ranges looms ever closer and you are now in the habitat of Australia’s famous wildlife – not only kangaroos and emus live here in abundance, but also many species of birds and reptiles.  We continue on through vast sheep station country into the heart of the Flinders Ranges.  Your dinner tonight is at The Woolshed Restaurant.

Day 3
Today we take you through Bunyeroo and Brachina Gorges. This region was once an ancient seabed and it now carries some of the most important early fossils known. The Flinders Ranges are home to a vast number of native animals and birds, which abound amongst the gum trees and on the steep, ragged slopes of the gorges. Enjoy lunch at the Prairie Hotel. This historic Outback pub situated along the original Old Ghan Railway Line has an international reputation for its cuisine, in particular, its feral food menu including kangaroo and emu (other meals available).  After lunch you will proceed up the Parachilna Gorge to the highest town in South Australia, Blinman before returning to Rawnsley Park Station for dinner at The Woolshed Restaurant.

Day 7
This morning you will depart Ayers Rock in your private aircraft and fly to Bamurru Plains, which is located on Swim Creek Station, a 303 sq km coastal buffalo pastoral property near Point Stuart in the Mary River Region.  The property encompasses a variety of habitat including vast river frontage, coastal floodplains, savannah woodland, and paperbark swamps.  The station is 10 kms from Kakadu National Park’s western boundary (100kms from Jabiru in Kakadu) and just over 100 kms east of Darwin.  A style of accommodation more akin to some of the safari camps in Africa, Bamurru Plains’ attraction lies in the birdlife and wildlife of the surrounding floodplains and savannah woodland.   Activities focus on early morning and late afternoon when the wildlife and the light are at their best.  Given the normally early start to be out at dawn for the wildlife, the first major meal of the day is in late morning (approx. 11 a.m.) on arrival back in camp.  Snacks and drinks are also taken out on safari.  A three course dinner (first course is often canapés on the front deck) is served at approximately 7:30 every evening and dinner is hosted by the camp manager or one of the guides. Meals are shared with other guests around the dining room table.  Food is based on contemporary Australian cuisine with a hint of native produce.

Or you may choose to take an optional private 4WD tour to Kakadu.

Day 9
Depart Bamurru Plains in your private aircraft and fly to Lizard Island off the eastern coast of Australia.  Lizard Island is a place reserved for the fortunate few - your own personal island retreat on the Great Barrier Reef.  Beautiful, natural and wild, it is the most northern Great Barrier Reef resort.  The beaches are plentiful, 24 in all, with fine powdery white sand, undisturbed but for the occasional footprints. Your island is for snorkelling, if you choose, or deep-sea game fishing, or diving at The Cod Hole, one of the world famous dive sites just a short boat ride away. Enjoy secluded picnics on private beaches, five star cuisine and indulging spa treatments.  Watching the sunset on a day-bed overlooking the water, it’s easy to be lulled into the deep peace that comes with being in your own beautiful world on Lizard Island.
