M1026 HMMWV Armament Carrier w/ Basic Armor With Winch
The M1026 and M1026A1 HMMWVs were Armament Carrier configurations of the HMMWV family. The vehicles were equipped with basic armor and a weapon mount, located on the roof of the vehicle.The M1026 and M1026A1 armament carriers provided mounting and firing of the Mk 19 Mod 3 automatic grenade launcher, M2 .50 caliber machine gun, and M60 and M240 7.62mm machine guns. The weapons were ring-mounted with a 360 degree arc of fire. The vehicles also had basic armor protection for crew, weapon components, and ammunition.
The difference between the M1025 and M1025A1 armament carriers and the M1026 and M1026A1 armament carriers
was that the M1025 and M1025A1 did not have winches and the M1026 and M1026A1 did. The M1026 and M1026A1 were equipped with self-recovery winches that permited recovery operations of similar vehicles.
Fully-loaded M1026 and M1026A1 armament carriers could climb road grades as steep as 60 percent (31 degrees) and traverse a side slope of up to 40 percent (22 degrees). The vehicles ford hard bottom water crossings up to 30 inches (76 centimeters) without a deep water fording kit and 60 inches (152 centimeters) with the kit.
Banksia Adventure's M1026 is modified for tour operations and also is run on Bio-Diesel for a cleaner environment.
