Blue Mountains and the Hunter Valley
History & Wine in the Mountains
Day 1Leave Sydney following the original convict-built road and venture through areas steeped in Aboriginal culture. You will pass through historic towns and quaint country villages, as you head towards the famous Hawkesbury River. A ferry crossing here will provide a unique taste of Australia as you continue along this historic route.
You will follow the traditional tracks of the Aboriginal Dreaming Serpent as you climb high onto the top of the Great Dividing Range. You are now overlooking one of the World’s largest wilderness areas, home to unique flora, fauna and ancient rock carvings.
The end of the first day’s exploring ends in the Hunter Valley, one of the famous wine regions of Australia. The rural beauty of this region is a delight, not only to wine lovers, weaving a sense of an idyllic existence.
