Day 1

Your journey starts in Adelaide and takes you into the nearby Adelaide Hills along a scenic route past lakes and the rural charm of horse studs, dairy farms and grazing sheep to the Barossa Valley wine region.

After a stop for morning tea you will visit a variety of wineries so as to become acquainted with the major wine styles of the area. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, typifying the produce of the Barossa, after which you may visit further wineries or explore other local produce such as cheeses, smoked meats or dried fruits. 

Upon arriving at your rural accommodation, take the opportunity to just sit, relax and breathe in the tranquil peace of the gum trees and surrounding countryside or maybe enjoy exploring the land and its inhabitants.

Whatever you choose, keep a hearty appetite for your Aussie Country dinner tonight!

Day 2

Today you leave the Barossa and travel into the Clare Valley through the habitats of native animals and the wildlife wetlands of the River Murray and Outback countryside.

You will be guided through Burra, a little town that in the 18th century boasted the Worlds most important copper mine. Now it is the home of the Burra Charter, a statute that defines the basic principles and procedures to be followed in the conservation of Australian heritage places. 

The highlight today is the Clare Valley wine region.  There will plenty of opportunity to indulge in the different wine styles of this picturesque area. 

At the end of the your two days, your homeward journey returns through the fertile plains north of Adelaide bringing to an end a delightful excursion through the real Australian countryside.               

Tour departs Adelaide at 08:45 and returns the following day at approx 17:30
